We’re seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor to take ownership of day‑to‑day maintenance operations across our site. You’ll be the go‑to person for coordinating tasks, supporting the team, and ensuring our buildings remain high‑quality, compliant, and dependable.
What You’ll Do
- Leading, coordinating, and motivating the maintenance team—ensuring work is completed safely, professionally, and on time.
- Planning and prioritising daily activities, including reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Carrying out routine inspections of building fabric, plumbing, equipment, and site systems.
- Managing external contractors, ensuring they follow site rules, SLAs, and health and safety requirements.
- Keeping accurate maintenance logs, reports, and asset records.
- Supporting budgeting, procurement, and stock control for tools, equipment, and materials.
- Responding to maintenance emergencies with calm, effective first‑line diagnosis.
- Championing continuous improvement to enhance building performance, efficiency, and reduce downtime.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in building maintenance, facilities, engineering, or a related trade.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems (mechanical, plumbing, etc.).
- Experience supervising or leading a maintenance or trades team.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and planning skills.
- Ability to manage pressure, prioritise effectively, and think one step ahead.
- A practical, solutions‑focused approach with great attention to detail.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, or trade certifications (electrical/mechanical) are a bonus.
