Overview Of Role

Rothamsted have an opportunity for a Building Services Supervisor (Mechanical Bias) to join our site facilities team.

The role involves the planned preventive maintenance and repairs of a variety of mechanical equipment providing heating, cold water, DHW & drainage for our campus buildings. The work also includes primarily gas fired district and central heating systems and boilers.   

The ideal candidate will be qualified in mechanical engineering to City and Guilds standard, be GASsafe registered (or be prepared to be) and have good relevant experience, post apprenticeship. Some electrical fault finding experience associated with mechanical work and general Building service/site support tasks. 

The successful applicant will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team with supervisory experience and will have a broad range of mechanical knowledge and experience.  Good communication skills and the ability to make sound judgement and approach tasks logically are essential Candidates may be required to join an on call rota system (which will be remunerated with a fixed on call allowance) and be expected to drive company vehicles when required.

This is a permanent full-time position, salary to be discussed with the successful candidate.
