Overview Of Role

Rothamsted Research is recruiting a postdoctoral research scientist to work for the UKRI-EPSRC funded project: Global Nitrogen Innovation Centre for Clean Energy and the Environment (NICCEE). The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of cycling processes in soil, particularly for nitrogen (N) be highly skilled in using a suite of analytical and field techniques and preferably with advanced data analysis skills. 

The ideal candidate would have a PhD in a relevant discipline and able to work with other project members including researchers who are highly recognised in this field, to write experimental protocols and carry them out, analyse and present the data and produce peer reviewed papers. The post holder will co-supervise project technicians and work with them to measure N and other nutrient losses,  interacting with modellers within the team and the wider project consortium, based in the UK, America and Canada.

The role will be based within our Net Zero & Resilient Farming Directorate at our Okehampton, Devon campus and will be required to travel nationally and internationally, as required for the role. 

The role is fixed term for 3 years, with a start date in December 2024.
