Overview Of Role

Rothamsted is seeking a enthusiastic and talented Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on a EU project called UNWTIST (https://www.untwist.eu/). The successful candidate will join a team working to uncover the responses of plants to abiotic stress. We are offering a 12-month fully funded position to participate in a European consortium that is working to elucidate fundamental mechanisms underlying plant plasticity in response to environmental change.

Working from the laboratory to the field; profiling the molecular, physiological and phenotypic response of diverse Camelina germplasm to heat and drought stress, the project offers the chance to work at all levels to dissect the response of plants to environmental change.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of glasshouse abiotic stress experiments, field trials, phenology, sampling and distribution of material from leaf and seed tissues at specific developmental time-points.  Motivation, creativity and ability to work independently are essential for this position. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required, with the ability to work with a wide range of people. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to use their creativity and interest in plant science.

This is a full-time position providing maternity cover for 12 months fixed term, with a salary in the range of £31,350 to £32,315 p.a. dependant on experience.
