Overview Of Role

The post of Field Trials Technician is one of a skilled operator, who will be working in a world leading research institute. This post requires an individual with practical agricultural skills as well as a basic understanding of systems and process to enable us to support the science of the institute. The post holder is expected to have experience in tractor driving, loader driving, machine operation and basic machinery maintenance; thorough knowledge of field trials equipment is required.

The post holder will be required to record operations electronically, capture data in field, sample crop and soil and liaise with science groups to enable successful completion of experimental protocols. This role will require significant practical experience working on agricultural field trials, with input on best practise and achieving current industry standards expected.

We would be looking to find a candidate with willingness to learn the long term experiments here at Rothamsted and who takes pride in the work and being happy to be flexible during busy seasonal times is crucial.

The role will close on 24 September, with interviews held after 4 October. 
This role is initially for a 3 year fixed term, and attracts a salary from £25,500 per annum for 37 hours per week.
