Overview Of Role

Rothamsted Research farm in Brooms Barn, Suffolk are recruiting a Junior Farm Technician to join our Brooms Barn Farm. 

If you are an ambitious individual, who is organised and a good communicator, we would love to hear from you. This role could suit someone new to working on Farms, or alternatively, an experienced operator who would like the challenge of working in a research environment. The ability to think 'outside the box' for new ideas at times is welcomed.

Some practical experience working on farm or with agricultural field trials is desirable, but not essential for this role. You will have or want to learn skills and knowledge in the areas of tractor and telehandler driving, machinery operation and basic machinery maintenance to ensure our equipment is of the highest safety standards. As a research farm, accurate record keeping and following strict protocols is essential. 

The post is initially for a 1 year fixed term period, with potential to be extended. This role attracts a salary ranging from 17,500 per annum, dependent on experience. Lawes Agricultural Trust have a portfolio of rental properties in close proximity to the farm, for those who would require local accommodation
