Overview Of Role

Are you looking for the opportunity to work in historic grounds? Are you passionate about creative gardening?  This exciting new opportunity has become available within the Gardens Team for a passionate and enthusiastic gardener to support rejuvenation plans in the historic grounds of Rothamsted Manor, and across the Rothamsted Research Institute.

This role will provide vital support in achieving our design plans in the grounds of Rothamsted Manor including work on herbaceous borders, formal bedding, rose arch, formal hedges, lawns and a walled garden.

Working as part of a small, dedicated team you will enjoy taking ownership of specific areas of the garden ensuring the highest standards are maintained. Previous experience of working in an historic garden that is open to the public would be beneficial.

With a minimum of 2 years' gardening experience you will understand the need across the sites, encompassing a range of practical horticultural tasks and skills with opportunity to contribute to the creative plans being developed by our new and ambitious head gardener.

This post is initially for a 3 year fixed term, attracting a salary of £18,841- £20,807 per annum, dependent on experience.  Interviews w/c 19 July 2021.
