Overview Of Role

Reporting to the Building Services Manager and supervising a small team of engineers, the main purpose of the Refrigeration Supervisor role will be to carry out effective planned and preventative maintenance of the refrigeration, air conditioning and Controlled Environment equipment at our site in Harpenden. Rothamsted Research site is a world-leading, non-profit research centre that focuses on strategic agricultural science to the benefit of farmers and society worldwide, with a vast range of equipment required to support in our science

The post-holder will be required to ensure that all work undertaken is in accordance with statutory and manufacturing requirements, working in a safe and efficient manner and ensure they are up to date with knowledge on working regulations including an 'F Gas Safe' certificate. 

 As a key role within the building services team, you will be problem solver, and work with Science colleagues to support in new equipment and existing equipment maintenance. You will be qualified to a City and Guilds in Engineering, or equivalent. 

This post is for a 3 year fixed term contract initially, with salary ranging between £24,225 and £26,573 per annum, with attractive holiday allowance and pension contributions. 

As this role is criteria to the delivery of Rothamsted science, the post holder will be required to complete 'out of hours' rota duties, which is currently every 1 in 4 weeks, and appropriate allowances will be made for this in addition to salary.
