Overview Of Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Devon site for a Health and Safety Advisor to lead on health and safety at Rothamsted Research based in North Wyke Devon. This role will form part of the wider Health and Safety team, reporting to the Head of Health and Safety at Harpenden and the Head of site at North Wyke.

You will be expected to work with autonomy advising on all aspects of Health and Safety across a complex research facility, where World-leading science is conducted alongside conventional agriculture, on our 350 ha livestock farms set in the heart of Devon.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • A relevant science degree
  • A Recognised qualification in health and safety; e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent experience, 3 years minimum.
  • Suitable relevant experience in a similar research environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential or sensitive information
  • Willingness to travel between sites, often involving overnight stays
  • A full clean UK driving Licence

The role is a part-time (80% FTE) role, offering a salary in the range of £29,842 - £32,315 pro-rata per annum.
