Overview Of Role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Soil to Nutrition (S2N) strategic programme at Rothamsted Research at our North Wyke site which is situated outside of Okehampton in Devon.
 
The S2N strategic programme is funded by the UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to work on catchment systems in the context of identifying pathways for optimising the sustainable intensification of agriculture.

This Postdoctoral role will combine the use of empirical(e.g. monitoring, tracing, scaling) and modelling (e.g. process-based scenario analyses) approaches and involve working in an institute-wide multidisciplinary science team across the Rothamsted Research sites (North Wyke and Harpenden).

Candidates are expected to possess sound knowledge of catchment systems, hydrological processes and agriculture, as well as fieldwork and programming skills. The post holder will report to Professor Adie Collins and will be expected to deliver publications in high impact journals.

You will be a postdoctoral scientist with a PhD in hydrology, agriculture or modelling with an up to date knowledge and specialist understanding in the field of catchment systems and the ability to apply or develop relevant models, techniques and methods. You will also be able to communicate effectively with farmers.
 
This is a fixed term contract which is initially funded for 12 months.
 
Interviews will be held at North Wyke on either 27th or 28th March 2018.
